Real Americans gave up on Clinton about two years into his presidency when he ran off to the Pope for photo opps and stood out in front of the Vatican and lied about what they talked about. This was after he surrounded himself with the appearance of criminal misconduct.

It would seem that Oslo has a great deal to learn about the "real world." If you need a story teller, which is what Clinton attempts, please try Mark Twain. Twain is a classic.

Congratulations to the most reverent ministers for their community service act and saving Norway's reputation as we know it. (Garbage threatened to trash Clinton visit , Monday May 14, 2001)

I would just like to add my particular disgust at the attitude taken by the most revered citizens in the capital.

Bush, Dick and the Hummer

Look I'm not going to get in the way of today's planned protest, but I want to make this very, very clear: Stay the hell away from the 217 this year. I swear, if you hemp-wearing, yoga-loving, tofu-eating, weirdos place your unshowered bodies between me and my weekly trip to In-N-Out for animal style fries and a burger, I'll run over as many of you as the cops will allow before arresting me and secretly setting me free for doing society a favor. You let me get to my red meat, and I'll let you keep on pretending like President Bush actually gives a shit what a few thousand students 3,000 miles away think. Nobody needs to get hurt.

Tuesday Forecast: In preparation for a war with antiwar-mongers, the 'human rents a Hummer and buys the same model shotgun as Dick Cheney.

Rethinking Organics

Few things make you feel better about your health than eating organic fruits and veggies. A diet high in produce is commendable enough, but organic produce? That's a double dose of virtue. What's less clear is how much good that virtue does you. Are there real benefits to going organic? If so, are some organic fruits and vegetables better than others? And how do you choose?

One thing is certain: it's easier than ever to find organic produce. As demand for pesticide- and chemical-free foods has grown, the onetime niche product has gone mass market. Sometimes organic produce simply looks or tastes better, which for me is often reason enough to pay the higher price it may sell for. And sure, it makes sense to avoid pesticides as much as possible. At the same time, scientists have yet to document a definite, long-term negative effect of modern pesticides on our bodies, meaning that while organic foods do you no harm, they may not turn out to be as beneficial as you think.

Your View

What about the proliferation of snacks and sugar drinks helping cause obesity. Fewer physical education classes at school?

He so correctly states that our leaders "have underestimated both our vulnerability and the strategic smarts of our opponent."

There might not be a need for a future invasion of the American homeland. The population will be sitting fat, dumb and happy, watching TV, surfing the internet and eating Cheetos.

Boring but valid

Re: Jan. 31 letter "Evolution too boring."

I find the letter writer sorely lacking in common sense.

Evolution is boring? To some, sure; to others, maybe not. But using that as a premise to decide if it should be taught? Unacceptable.
